My All Time Favorite- Friends

My first choice for this blog is of course, my all time favorite show- Friends! I know many of you probably know it and for you I wish to refresh your memories with my favorite moments of the show. For those of you that never heard of it, start watching it NOW!
For me Friends is first of all, one of the greatest love stories. You might disagree, but bear with me on this. It's great because it seems to real. She doesn't have a fatal disease, he doesn't travel through time, no one dies and leaves letter for the other one and it doesn't happen in the 19th century or something! It's the love story between two normal people living in New York, nowadays. And the ups and downs of this story are real, things that happen to all of us every day. But more about this later on...
The story begins when Rachel, the blonde rich spoiled girl, appears in a wedding dress in a cafe that will become legendary, looking for her high school friend, Monica. Even though they haven't spoken in a long time, Monica is forced to accept Rachel living with her after she left her own wedding and wants to be independent from her rich family. Along with Monica, the other 4 friends easily embrace Rachel in their group: Chandler and Joey who live across the hall, Phoebe, their quirky friend, and Ross, Monica's brother, who has always been in love with Rach. And right then and there, the magic begins!
Rachel is this spoiled rich girl that has never worked a day in her life and wants to be independent. However, the only job she found was in a cafe called, Central Perk, that becomes the spot where they all hang out. She works as a waitress for a couple of years and then moves on into fashion. By the end of the show, the evolution of this character is amazing. She matures so much and it's impossible not to love her! Rachel and Ross live the great love story. He is a nerdy paleontologist and Monica's brother and he had been in love with Rachel since high school. At the beginning of the show, he just found out that his wife is a lesbian, ran off with another woman and she is pregnant with his child. He finally gets the courage to ask Rachel out, she says maybe, but the date never goes through. After a while, she finds out from someone else that Ross is in love with her. However, by that time he was already with someone else. They would always miss the right moment or something would come up between them. They did have a very happy relationship for like a season after which they took a break. During this break Ross slept with another woman. And from there on, they would be on and off until the end of the show. He gets married to another woman, she dates many other guys, but somehow they end up drunk getting married in Vegas and then separating again. They also end up having a baby girl, Emma, towards the end. Faced with Rachel's move to Paris for a job, he finally realizes how much he loves her and that he can't let her go. It is the perfect finale for such a restless relationship. And it all seems to real.  We all went through stuff like that- watching the person you love with someone else, waiting for the perfect timing...For the people that know the show, if you are still with me, be honest, is not the greatest love story?
Moving on to Monica, who is Rachel's best friend and roommate and she is very organized and obsessed with cleaning, works a chef for the most part of the show and used to be really fat as a child. Monica experiences two great loves in her life, one with Richard, an older man and friend of her parents and despite everything they make a great couple, except that he doesn't want children. The other one is with Chandler, one of the Friends. Chandler is the funny one in the group and despite that no one knows what he does for a living, they all know it's something with numbers. He hates his job and ends up changing careers eventually. He is awkward and very unsuccessful with women, and he and Monica end up together after one of Ross's weddings in London. They keep their relationship a secret from the others for a long time until they can admit to themselves that they love each other. Their relationship is so simple and without drama that makes you wonder if it can be real. They move in together and get married eventually and after trying so hard to have a child they end up adopting twins. They are both so different characters but they complete each other in every way.
Phoebe, Monica's former flat mate is a lovely quirky vegetarian masseuse. She is the most selfless character on the show and lives in her own little world. She has a twin sister, Ursula, and she lived on the streets for a while after her mother killed herself, from where she has a wide range of adventures. Phoebe carried her brother's children because his wife was unable to and she also had 2 great loves. One was an awkward scientist that moved to Minsk and the other was Mike, who would also become her husband.
Joey is a (mostly) unemployed actor and Chandler's flat mate. He is great with the ladies and is always dating a new one. He loves to eat anything no matter how disgusting and mostly lives off Chandler and Monica's backs. He sometimes doesn't get what people are talking about and is pretty naive, but that only makes him more lovable. He falls in love with Rachel for a short time but by the end of the show he doesn't meet his significant other...
And that's why i love this show- not everyone gets to get married and have kids- some get the happy ending they want, not the one imposed by society. And out of the 6 characters, anyone can find identify with at least one of them. I think I am more like a Monica for example, because i am super organized and obsessed and let's be honest (for the ones that know me)...also bossy!:) What characters do you identify with and why?
But most importantly, tell me why do you love this show? As i said, for me it represents a great love story! How about you?

I leave you with my favorite moments of the show- for those who've seen it, i hope i brought a smile on your face. For those who haven't, i hope i convinced you to watch it!

Chandler being funny

Rachel's "traditional" English triffle

And if you have some more time to spare....here are the funniest moments:
